Work in Confined Space Brisbane: Course Requirements and Safety Outcomes
The Work in confined space Brisbane course (RIIWHS202E) provides the nationally recognised skills required to safely enter, work in, and exit confined spaces across construction, mining, and industrial environments. This training is essential for workers who operate in enclosed or partially enclosed areas where hazards such as restricted access, hazardous atmospheres, or engulfment risks may be present.
Participants learn how to identify confined spaces, understand WHS legislation and codes of practice, and follow permit systems used to control entry. The course covers hazard identification, risk assessment, isolation procedures, and emergency response requirements to ensure work is carried out safely. You will also develop the ability to follow workplace procedures for entry and exit, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and respond effectively to incidents.
This unit is widely required for roles across civil construction, maintenance, utilities, and resource sectors where confined space entry forms part of normal work activities.

Our confined space training in Brisbane is delivered face to face with a strong focus on practical, hands-on experience in simulated work environments. This ensures participants are prepared to apply safe work practices in real job site conditions, not just understand theory.
Training includes completing confined space permits, conducting pre-entry checks, monitoring hazards, and safely entering and exiting confined spaces using correct procedures. Participants will also practice emergency response actions and apply risk control measures during practical assessments aligned with workplace expectations.
The course typically takes up to 8 hours to complete depending on group size and experience, and can be delivered at our training location or onsite where appropriate equipment is available. On successful completion, participants receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS202E issued by RTO 45597.
COURSE DETAILS
The Enter and Work in Confined Space course is a nationally recognised training course that provides participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and efficiently work in or around confined spaces. Confined spaces are commonly found in underground popes, tanks, ducts, flues, chimneys, containers or other similar enclosed or partially enclosed structures. Confined spaces do pose dangers because these areas are usually not designed for people work in and around. The course also provides participant’s with the skills to plan and prepare to enter a confined space, exiting a confined space and clean up procedures.
This course is ideal for people working the drilling, mining, extractive (quarrying) and civil construction industries who have been identified as requiring to enter and work in a confined space. The training is delivered face to face and typically takes a maximum of 8 hours to complete depending on group size and experience. Courses can be delivered from one of our locations or on site providing the correct equipment is available.
The Enter and Work in Confined Space course covers the Units of Competency required for successful confined space entry, along with practical demonstrations and assessments on safe work methods, obtaining a permit to enter and exiting standards for confined spaces. Participants will learn to identify and confirm the risks associated with entering partly enclosed or fully enclosed spaces as well as how to conduct work in a confined space safely and with confidence.
