Forklift Licence QLD: What This Course Covers and Who Needs It

If you need a forklift licence QLD, this course provides the recognised training and assessment pathway for TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck. In Queensland, anyone performing this type of high risk work must hold the correct High Risk Work Licence, and successful participants can then apply through WorkSafe Queensland after completing the course and assessment process.

Our forklift training Brisbane course combines theory and practical instruction to build safe, job-ready operating skills. Training covers hazard identification, legislative requirements, routine checks, load handling, forklift operation, and shutdown procedures. It is suitable for workers entering or already working in construction, transport, retail, warehousing, resources, and related industries where forklift operation is required.

If you are comparing courses, this training is designed to help you understand not just how to operate a forklift truck, but how to do so safely, compliantly, and with the level of competency expected on real worksites across Queensland.

Practical Forklift Training Brisbane With a Clear High Risk Work Licence Pathway

Our forklift training Brisbane course is delivered face to face and includes practical skills development, classroom-based learning, and formal assessment aligned with national high risk work requirements. This gives participants a clear pathway toward obtaining a forklift licence QLD while developing the confidence to operate a forklift truck safely in workplace conditions.

Training includes planning the task, conducting pre-operational checks, understanding load stability, operating the forklift safely, and completing required shutdown and securing procedures. Assessment includes theory, calculations, and practical components, with participants required to achieve a successful outcome in the knowledge components before moving to practical assessment.

On successful completion, Sheer Workplace Training issues the relevant Statement of Attainment through RTO 45597. Participants then apply for their High Risk Work Licence through WorkSafe Queensland. For individuals and employers seeking compliant forklift training in Brisbane, this course provides a recognised and practical licensing pathway.

This course provides participants with the hands on practical skills and theoretical knowledge to safely operate a Forklift type truck. The course is delivered using a combination of classroom based instruction and practical skills development sessions using and operating a forklift. The training specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.

Forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachments that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground, but does not include a pedestrian-operated truck or a pallet truck. A person performing this work is required to hold a forklift truck High Risk Work Licence (HRWL).

The course is delivered 2 days face to face training and 1 day for assessment. Training and assessment can be delivered at one of our dedicated training facilities or at your site providing the correct equipment is available. This course is suitable for those who wish to operate a forklift truck in the Resources, Construction, Transport or Retail industry.

Once you have completed your face-to-face training and upon successful completion of assessment, you will need to apply for High Risk Work (HRW) Licence through  WorkSafe Qld. High risk licences need to be renewed every 5 years (how to renew your licence).

Sheer Workplace Training is responsible for the quality of the training and assessment and will be issuing the statement of attainment issued through RTO 45597 for this unit.
