The course is delivered using a combination of classroom based instruction and practical skills development sessions using and operating a forklift. The training specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.
Forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachments that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground, but does not include a pedestrian-operated truck or a pallet truck. A person performing this work is required to hold a forklift truck High Risk Work Licence (HRWL).
The course is delivered face to face over the process of 2 days (1 day training, 1 day for assessment – approximately 16 hours) with around 6 hours of pre course reading that is provided upon enrolment. Training and assessment can be delivered at one of our dedicated training facilities or at your site providing the correct equipment is available. This course is suitable for those who wish to operate a forklift truck in the Resources, Construction, Transport or Retail industry.
Sheer Workplace Training is responsible for the quality of the training and assessment and will be issuing the statement of attainment issued through QTLT ( RTO number 40931 ) for this unit.

Participants must be over 18 years of age, be able to speak and understand English; understand technical concepts; and provide suitable identification.
Personal safety clothing must be provided by the student and worn during training. Sheer Workplace Training will provide additional safety equipment as required.
